  • Say yes to the dress is better than bridezillas!

I haven't seen a new episode of Bridezillas in a long time, but I have been watching Say yes to the dress. I love the show on TLC called Say yes to the dress! Brides come to Kleinfeld looking for the dress of their dreams. They carefully examine each dress they try on, mentally dissecting it into the parts that they like and dislike. Dress after beautiful dress is brought out according to the bride's likes and dislikes until she finally finds "the one". It's as if the bride is dating again. She picks a dress that she thinks might be the one for her, then she gets to try it out and see if it is the perfect fit; She sees if it flatters her, inspires her, and makes her feel beautiful, next the important people in her life meet the dress and give their input, and finally she decides if it is the perfect dress for her. Finding the dress is a wonderful whirl-wind of emotions. Now, Not discussing it as a relationship anymore, I have noticed that many brides make a BIG MISTAKE. They decide to try on a dress that is way over their price range. Why they choose to do this, I am not sure. The appeal of an expensive dress? The rush of trying on something they can't afford? Who knows. They try on a dress that is way over their price range and fall completely and totally in love with it. This is a big mistake because once you see that amazingly expensive but beautiful dress, You will never be able to go back. Nothing will compare to that masterpiece. So stick to your price range ladies, and you will be much happier.

  • Shoes for your body type

You may not think that shoes are a big factor in your over-all look, but they are! They can make you look shorter or taller, thinner or thicker.

Apple-shaped: Woman with an apple body shape are bigger on the upper half of their body. You should wear bigger, more prominent shoes to balance your upper and lower half. Avoid dainty shoes like flats, ballet slippers, and ankle-length boots.

Pear-shaped: Woman with a pear body shape are bigger on the bottom half of their body. You should wear high heels to make your legs appear thinner, and avoid heels with ankle straps.

Hour glass: Woman with an hour glass body should wear delicate heels with a pointy toe. avoid any shoe that makes you look shorter and wider like ballet slippers, shoes with ankle straps, or shoes with a rounded toe.

If you are TALL, you can wear pretty much any shoe out there- Even the rounded or squared-toed shoes that other body types can't handle.

If you are SHORT, You should avoid rounded or square-toed shoes and shoes with thick straps or large embellishments. Instead wear shoes with pointy toes or high heels. Metallic shoes will elongate your feet, and shoes that are the same or close to the same color as the clothes on you lower half, make you look taller.

If you have BIG FEET, You should wear sling-backs or peep toe shoes. Shoes with medium-sized embellishments -such as bows or buckles- will draw attention away from the size of your feet.

If you have THICK ANKLES, You should wear heavier shoes, like wedges or knee-length boots. Avoid flats and anything that emphasizes your ankles.

The type of shoe that you wear really does make a difference in your over-all appearance, So choose well!

  • doubt?

When I first started this blog I had doubt. I didn't know if anyone would care to read what I took time to type. I don't know if this is normal or if this was just an example of my insecurity. But I know now that at least some of my blogs have been helpful, and I am glad of that. I was reminded of all of this today, when I watched Julie and Julia. (a pretty good movie I have to say) I sympathized with Julie every step of the way. I sympathized with her doubts and what soon came to be her obsession that caused her to be slightly self-absorbed- ok, very self-absorbed. I hope this never happens to me. That's why I try to make most of my posts about other things- not about my day today or my plans or my anything. of course, having a few posts about myself is perfectly natural. Anyway, Julie and Julia made me see blogging from a perspective other than my own. It showed me that all bloggers are the same. We are all insecure, but we shouldn't let our insecurity stop us from giving our opinion.

  • New Year

Today is New year's eve. I've been extremely busy this year. busier than I have ever been before. Because of this, one of my new year resolutions is to spend more time doing things that I enjoy. Like blogging. The New Year has always been a time to recreate yourself and to start anew, and that's what I will attempt to do. This coming year will be another tough one for me. A year full of hard decisions. It will take all my sanity to keep me from just giving up, but I will try with all my might to make things work. Anyway, enough about me. Happy New Year Everyone!!! Enjoy the beginning of something new!
